By: KWalsh554. on 01 Feb 10, 17:25:58 I love how you said you were a "semi-organic" gardener because I say the same thing :-D I live only seven miles from the Atlantic ocean here in Florida, and our soil has no clay in it, so fertilizer is a must since nutrients leech out of it so quickly. Organic fertilizer is too expensive. But I also never use pesticides.

The plastic netting ... By: Blinkazoid. on 29 Apr 09, 03:26:21 The plastic netting worked out great! I had a poor crop of beans but that wasn't the nettings fault though. You have to handle it fairly carefully or it'll tear but it's by far the easiest method I've yet found for providing bean support.

I wouldn't want to ... By: Blinkazoid. on 17 May 08, 05:49:41 I wouldn't want to live in a house I built either, LOL. The bean netting thing turned out well though and was quite sturdy once I got it up. My hoe is broken at the moment. I'm getting my brother to weld it back together when he gets a chance. Ya, it would have been tons easier to dig a trench with a hoe and then cover it back up, and that's how I usually do it with beans but for some odd reason I didn't do it that way this time.

60's for highs and mid 40's for lows on most days. We should have a big warmup very soon though. According to Bradthunder he has two seasons. July and Winter, LOL. Actually I don't know where the half runner beans get their name from.

By: Blinkazoid. on 17 May 08, 05:39:36 After posting this vid I actually ran across another video on YouTube with someone using the exact same type of netting for beans, (although his was Blue Lake Beans) so I guess it must work OK. And ya, it's been an awfully cool spring here. It's supposed to be 42 *again* in the morning and then 45 on Sunday morning. It slows the veggie growth down though. Everything's looking good though. The cucumbers started coming up on Friday, but the beans haven't emerged yet.
I'll have to Google Fertrell!

Sounds like it might be interesting though. I never have any herbs around however because I pretty much just cook with salt and pepper and don't get too technical. Don't let that stop you from posting a video of your recipe though. I'll take a look at it. I've got a recipe somewhere here for yeast rolls that I've been planning on making for about 5 years, LOL.

Hey, use Fertrell...it's organic and wonderful fertilizer. 42?? Our low is like 72 now...bleh. 42 sounds great! Thanks for the great video.
